Terms of service
Last updated May 2, 2026
This is starter boilerplate, not legal advice. The final version of this document must be reviewed by qualified counsel before FlazhAI launches publicly. If you're a user reading this and something is unclear, please reach out — we'd rather answer your question than have you guess.
1. Welcome to FlazhAI
FlazhAI is a study tool that turns YouTube videos and documents into spaced-repetition flashcards. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, please don't use FlazhAI. We've tried to write these in plain language — where we use a defined term, we explain what it means.
2. Your account
You need an account to use FlazhAI. You're responsible for keeping your sign-in credentials safe and for everything that happens under your account. You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country) to use FlazhAI. If you're using FlazhAI on behalf of a school, organization, or another person, you confirm that you have the authority to do so.
3. Your content
You own everything you upload, paste, or generate inside FlazhAI — your decks, cards, notes, and transcripts. By using the service, you grant us a limited license to store, process, and display that content solely so we can run FlazhAI for you. We don't sell your content, train public AI models on it, or share it with anyone except the subprocessors listed in our Privacy Policy. You confirm you have the rights to upload anything you submit; if a third-party rights-holder objects, we'll work with you to resolve it under section 7 below.
4. Public sharing and the community directory
You can mark a deck as Private (only you), Anyone with the link (link-only, not listed), or Public (listed in /community). When you publish a deck, you grant other FlazhAI users a non-exclusive license to view it and to fork (make a copy of) the card text — their fork starts a fresh study lifecycle and your personal study data, audio, and notes don't transfer. Decks derived from CC BY-SA sources (e.g. Wikipedia, MDN) are themselves CC BY-SA; forkers inherit those obligations. FlazhAI Curated decks are official seed content authored or curated by FlazhAI directly, marked with a green Verified Curator badge.
5. AI-generated content
FlazhAI uses AI (currently Google Gemini) to generate flashcards, summaries, and study suggestions from sources you provide. AI output can be wrong, biased, or outdated. You should review AI-generated cards before relying on them — especially for medicine, law, finance, or anything where being wrong has consequences. We don't guarantee accuracy, and FlazhAI is not a substitute for professional advice.
6. Subscriptions and payment
Free plans are free. Paid plans ("Zuper") are billed by Lemon Squeezy as the merchant of record. By upgrading, you authorize Lemon Squeezy to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from your profile — your plan stays active until the end of the paid period. We offer a 14-day refund window for first-time subscribers; reach out by email and we'll process it.
7. What you can't do
Don't use FlazhAI to upload illegal content, infringe other people's copyright, harass anyone, or extract our service into a competing product. Don't try to break the service — no scraping, no abusing our AI quotas, no probing for vulnerabilities outside a coordinated disclosure. Don't impersonate anyone. We'll suspend accounts that do these things.
8. Copyright takedowns (DMCA-style procedure)
If you believe content on FlazhAI infringes your copyright, email dmca@flazh.ai with: (1) your contact info, (2) identification of the copyrighted work, (3) the URL of the infringing content (typically a /d/{slug} page), (4) a good-faith statement that the use is unauthorized, and (5) your signature (typed is fine). We'll review and respond within 48 hours, and remove or disable access to confirmed infringing content. If you believe content was wrongly removed, reply with a counter-notice and we'll evaluate it. We terminate accounts of repeat infringers. This procedure mirrors the framework set out in 17 U.S.C. § 512 even if we are not formally registered as a designated agent.
9. Suspension and termination
You can delete your account at any time from your profile — that wipes your decks, cards, and personal data within 30 days. We can suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms, abuse the service, or put other users or our infrastructure at risk. Where it's reasonable, we'll give you notice and a chance to fix the issue first.
10. Disclaimers and liability
FlazhAI is provided "as is." We work hard to keep it running, but we don't promise it will be error-free, available 24/7, or fit for any specific purpose. To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim related to FlazhAI is capped at what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or USD 50, whichever is greater. We're not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages.
11. Changes to these Terms
We'll update these Terms occasionally — usually because the product changes or the law does. When we make material changes, we'll notify you in-app or by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continuing to use FlazhAI after the change means you accept the new Terms. If you don't, you can delete your account.
